8 Things You Need To Know About Sew Saturday 2016

Here at Sew HQ we love nothing more than an excuse to pop to our local fabric store, well apart from actually sewing of course! Like you, we’re fabric fiends and spend hours looking at all the pretty prints that leave us feeling all inspired to get creative. This is why we set up the wonderful, Sew Saturday, so that all the high street fabric stores, sewing cafes and traditional haberdasheries can come together and prove just how amazing they are.

1 What is Sew Saturday?

Sew Saturday is a celebration of the independent fabric store and haberdasher. It’s a way of showing some love for our local bricks and mortar stores. With a wide range of special events set to happen up and down the country, with star appearances from leading names in the industry, plus workshops, makes & takes, discounts and competitions.

2 When is it?

This year Sew Saturday will take place on Saturday 15th October.

3 How do I get involved?

If you run a bricks and mortar sewing store and want to take part, email saturday@sewmag.co.uk for more information and your introductory starter pack, which includes projects you can download for make & takes.

4 Is my local shop taking part?

You can find out whether your nearest store is taking part by visiting www.sewmag.co.uk/sew-saturday

5 How do I find out more?

Don’t miss out! Keep an eye out on our website and Instagram, Facebook and Twitter @sewhq for upcoming news and information!

7 There’ll be cake!

Yes, you heard us right! Here at Sew HQ we’re partial to a slice of cake to accompany our crafting, so we’ve offered participating stores delicious recipes to include on the day.

8 Buttons the mascot!

Check out our adorable new mascot for 2016! Buttons the cat will feature throughout any Sew Saturday event you attend. If you loved last year’s mascot Aly owl, you can stitch your own here!
