2022
#AD We caught up with Bothy Threads to discuss their 30th Birthday, commitment to charity work, exciting new product releases, and their plans for 2023.
“What a year we’ve had at Bothy Threads! After launching 167 brand new designs this year it’s safe to say that we really have been pushing our creative boundaries.
This year saw the launch of our very first embroidery collection which introduced three new artists and numerous creative stitches to our skill set.
We also launched our 100th cross stitch kit from Wrendale Designs, the wonderful Wildflower Memories. To mark this momentous occasion, 5% of sales of this design were donated to St Barnabas Hospice. To date, we’ve donated over £700.
When remembering this year, we cannot fail to mention the sad passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. Local artist, Eleanor Teasdale, felt inspired to design some beautifully touching pieces of artwork which transformed perfectly into cross stitch. Our team worked at record speed to get these designs out to our customers, and we loved hearing that Thank you Ma’am and Together Again brought comfort at this sad time. All profits from the sales of these kits were donated to the Princes’ Trust and so far, we’ve donated over £6,250!
The new year brings big plans as we get ready to celebrate our 30th Birthday! From our humble beginnings in the garden shed in 1993, to the busy and bustling warehouse we now operate from, Bothy Threads has been bringing you cross stitch, tapestry, long stitch, and embroidery for three decades! We are planning competitions and giveaways, Bothy Threads merchandise and craft themed designs to inspire you all throughout our 30th year. Keep your crafty eyes on our website and social media for the latest news and giveaways or join our mailing list to get information sent to you. Our biggest project by far for 2023 is our promise to ‘Go Green’ as we start putting plans in place to eliminate plastic from our packaging by Christmas 2024!
