About this pattern

Welcome to part one of our Easter Rabbit Quilt Block Sew-Along! This simple and fun project is perfect for beginners, with just three easy steps to follow. In this first part, we'll guide you through creating a charming Easter rabbit design that will be transformed into a springtime cushion in part two. You could also use this basic template to make a quilt for the season, too!

Essentials

  • Contrasting cotton prints, two, fat quarter of each
  • Coordinating plain cotton, fat quarter
  • Cushion pad, 34cm square
  • Felt, scraps
  • Embroidery thread
  • Wide ribbon
  • 2oz quilt wadding, 35cm square

    Sew a quilt block

    1. Cut two 11.5cm squares from two different prints. Draw a diagonal line on the back of the paler shade and pair up with the darker, right sides together. Sew either side with a 5mm seam allowance and cut along the line. Open out and press to make four half square triangles (HSTs). Repeat.
