Essentials

  • Fabric, fat quarters, printed and plain
  • Felt: apricot, lilac
  • Cushion pad, 42cm square
  • Embroidery thread: pink, dark teal, orange, grey, purple, green
  • Bias tape, pink
  • Button, large Elastic cord, white, 18cm
  • Medium weight, iron-on interfacing

    1. Download and print the templates. Cut green button print, 27cm x 47cm. Using pink thread, stitch a length of pink bias tape across the long top edge, then iron on the reverse. Snip flesh fabric, 11cm x 26cm. Back it with medium weight iron-on interfacing. Trace the words from the template onto white tissue paper and secure it with washi tape. Using dark teal thread, sew over the words. Tear the paper away, then stitch over the words again. Iron on the reverse.

    2. Cut out the sewing machine from the template provided, then cut out a slightly larger rectangle of apricot felt. Use washi tape to hold the template in place to the right of the writing, then secure the piece of felt underneath. Use orange thread to sew the outline and details. T
