About this pattern

If you’re after some fun home décor this season, check out this quirky project by Carolyn Letten – it looks good enough to eat! Made from a mixture of soft brown corduroy, patterned cotton and embroidered snowy felt, it’s a quintessential combination of festive colours. Experiment with decorative free-motion stitches on a piece of scrap fabric first to master the technique.

Essentials

  • Fabric, cotton: red, green spot
  • Corduroy, brown
  • Felt: white, cream
  • Wadding
  • Fibre filling
  • Black and brown buttons, various sizes
  • Stones or similar for weights

    2. Take two of the segments and sew, right sides together, along one curved edge using a 1cm seam allowance. Keep adding segments in this way. When you get to the last piece, attach as before, leaving a space in the middle for turning. Turn right side out, then add more buttons near the seams.

    3. Stuff firmly, then insert weights at the bottom before hand-stitching the gap closed. Set aside. P
